Lothian Families with Type 1 Diabetes exists in order to support children and young people with diabetes to lead amazing lives, and to support their parents in caring for someone with Type 1 Diabetes.
We do this in a few different ways:
1. Organising Events for Children and Young People
Throughout the year we put on events for children and young people with Type 1 Diabetes and their families. The fun and supportive environment helps children and parents to both have a great day out. You can find out more about our events by signing up to our mailing list, following us on Facebook or by clicking here.
2, Organising Events for Parents
We also aim to put on educational and social events for parents to develop important peer support links. Check out our upcoming events for details.
3. Our Facebook Page
We use our Facebook Page to share interesting local, national and international stories about Type 1 Diabetes and to keep you all up-to-date with our latest goings on. You can find our page here.
4. Our Peer Support Group
We also have a peer support group on Facebook. This group allows parents of children with diabetes to ask questions and hopefully get some really useful advice from other local parents. You can join here.
We also like to get out and about to raise funds for the group and awareness for Type 1 Diabetes. This year we have been working with Dobbie's Garden Centre in Edinburgh to raise funds. Find out about latest efforts here.
In order to attend our events or to join the peer support group you'll need to register as a member with us. You can do that with a quick email by clicking here.
